Having made multiple placements into this APAC team for over a decade, this international law firm has engaged us to find their new Practice Manager for their India group.
With a dual reporting line to a Head of BD in Asia and senior BD lead in the UK, this role benefits from having a Senior Executive level direct report and will enjoy working with high profile and commercially savvy senior Partners – primarily based in Singapore and the UK, though also more broadly around the world.
This role will lead on the day-to-day management and business development for the India practice. Key responsibilities will include: working with the India Group partners on their strategic business development plans; client development plans; management of the relationships with local counsel firms; assisting on strategic India-related pitches; coordinating PR and marketing support for profile raising activities and more.
The role requires both a strategic perspective and a “hands-on” approach to practice management, with a willingness to “turn one’s hand” to a variety of different tasks. Flexibility, as well as being adept at achieving results through collaboration and influence, will be essential to success.
Who should apply?
You will be tertiary qualified and have gained Manager level experience in a similar practice development or BD role in a law firm, or related partnership environment. Existing understanding of the India marketplace and/or demonstrable experience in quickly understanding and supporting partnerships working in other emerging markets will be required.
You will be used to building strong and mutually respectful relationships with senior partners. You will have excellent communications skills, influencing abilities, a pro-active approach and collaborative, team-focused style. The successful candidate will be a commercial and ambitious individual with a proven track record in a similar professional services environment.
