Clients & Markets Managers – Clayton Utz

Our client, Clayton Utz is currently investing in its Clients & Markets team as part of a focused business strategy. 

This is an opportunity to join a well-resourced team, reporting to a BD Lead and supported by junior resources as well as centralised specialist teams.  There are two opportunities based in Sydney. These roles will lead business development for two different practice groups. One role sits in the Advisory & Transactions stream and the other in the Disputes & Regulatory stream.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and management of key initiatives for the practice, aligned with the firm’s overall objectives.
  • Identify and pursue client and new work opportunities, emerging service areas, and market development prospects in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute high-impact client engagement strategies to maintain and expand client relationships.
  • Provide industry insights and drive business development initiatives focused on enhancing market presence.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the firm’s set strategy, mentoring and leading team members as required.
  • Undertake business critical projects across various areas of the firm, communicating the vision and role of this practice within the organisation.
  • (This role does not have a large focus on bids.)

Who Should Apply?

This role will suit someone who already brings law firm BD experience, most likely in a large and/or premium legal brand.  

You will be able to demonstrate autonomy and a proactive approach in previous roles. You will bring exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate effectively.

You will bring a strong project management ability, characterised by a proactive and pragmatic approach, with proven leadership experience, including people and team management capabilities. Resilience and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently while adapting to evolving priorities and challenges will be key.
