Chapman Tripp is seeking an accomplished Clients & Markets Director to join its Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in advancing the firm’s client and market-facing strategies.
This is an opportunity to shape the direction of one of New Zealand’s most prominent legal brands, driving client-centric initiatives and strengthening national business development efforts.
As the head of the Clients & Markets function, you will lead a team of 10+ business development, marketing, and communications professionals, guiding strategic initiatives that enhance the firm’s market visibility, brand reputation, and client engagement.
You will work collaboratively with the Chief Executive Partner (CEP), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Partners and senior leaders to deliver on the firm’s strategic priorities and operational goals.
This is a role for a leader who can operate both strategically and hands-on, partnering closely with stakeholders to build strong client relationships, enhance client experience, and deliver measurable impact across business development, client strategy and communications.
Who should apply?
You will have a tertiary qualification and substantial senior-level experience in business development and marketing, ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Your strong understanding of the New Zealand market, or ability to develop this, combined with a client-focused and commercially minded approach, will enable you to drive meaningful growth and engagement.
Known for building trusted relationships, you’ll bring the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with Partners and clients. You will also be an experienced people leader who can inspire high performance while fostering a supportive, team-oriented culture.
With a hands-on approach and a strategic mindset, you will be confident leading initiatives that enhance market visibility, strengthen client relationships and embed a business development culture across the firm.
