I recently returned from Dubai. It was my first trip back since 2020. Reconnecting with old colleagues and friends was fantastic as were the conversations I had with our professional services BDMC network. Whilst we’re seeing more and more firms across APAC invest in client facing roles, the trend in Dubai is still very much around generalist BD and marketing roles. The appetite for junior bids/BD executives is still very strong and these appear to be the hardest roles to fill. One of the most interesting developments since I was last there was the focus on Saudi Arabia. More and more firms are looking to Saudi and as such, there are a number of opportunities opening up for those keen to explore that part of the world.
