This Clients & Markets Director role is a genuine opportunity to ‘make your mark’ and affect positive change and evolution of the Clients & Markets function.  The opportunity is with Chapman Tripp, one of New Zealand’s premier legal brands.  

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the COO, you will lead the team of 15 BD, marketing and communications specialists in achieving the firm’s client related strategic goals. 

This role is responsible for establishing, maintaining and growing partner and client relationships as well as working with partners and teams to ensure an exceptional experience to clients in their interactions with the firm.  You will also be responsible for building the trust and credibility of partners with their clients through educating partners on how to effectively interact with clients and build client relationships.

Who should apply?

You will be tertiary qualified and bring senior level business development experience from another law firm or similar professional services business.  You may already be operating at a Head of / Director level, however exceptional Senior Managers with leadership experience who can demonstrate they are ready to step up will also be considered. 

This partnership is seeking a strategic thinker who will bring ideas, commercial acumen and a forward-thinking approach to the role.  Your client-centric approach and experience in driving both client and sector strategy as well as client experience initiatives will also be viewed favourably. 

You will be an experienced people manager and bring exceptional relationship building, stakeholder management and influencing skills.  You will be able to demonstrate the impact you have made at prior firms and your ability to drive change.  You will be happy to lead from the front and be hands-on as well as strategic when the role requires.

We are very happy to consider international candidates relocating, though you will need to demonstrate your plan to relocate to NZ longer term.
