The Opportunity

The Director – BD is responsible for providing sales and business development leadership within Escient and positioning Escient strategically within the NSW region. This is a key commercial role responsible for growing market share and positioning Escient strategically across all relevant industry sectors through the identification of sales leads, pitching of services and managing and retaining trusted business relationships with new and existing clients.

The person in this role will exhibit thought leadership and a methodical approach to developing Escient’s internal business development capability whilst also growing the  client base and delivering successful commercial outcomes for Escient.  This involves maximising margin, identifying and mapping business strengths to client’s needs, development and marketing of repeatable solutions, and leveraging partner opportunities where possible.

Who should apply?

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Consultant having since transitioned their career to a BD/Sales role.  However we are also interested in Consultants keen to make this career step if they can demonstrate existing and innate BD/Sales ability; or career BD specialists who can demonstrate an understanding of the strategy, design, technology and delivery services Escient offers.

It is important that you are a self-starter who brings a positive energy, exceptional relationship building skills, commerciality and a consultative sales approach to client relationships.  Experience leveraging Salesforce will be valuable.

As a key member of the national leadership team, along with peer BD Directors in other locations, you will bring confidence, gravitas and other leadership qualities.  You will display sound judgement, the ability to act decisively, strong influencing and negotiating skills, strategic thinking, problem solving and a collaborative, inclusive style.
