Senior BD Manager – Banking & Finance (East Coast location)

We have been engaged by a premium large law firm to source their next Senior Business Development Manager to lead the firm’s Banking & Finance practice group.

This role is responsible for delivering revenue growth and building stronger, more enduring client relationships.  This is an opportunity to work with an ambitious and engaged group of Partners who are keen to work with an experienced BD expert who will bring strategic insight and keep them focused on delivering great client experience, generating a pipeline of work and driving forward growth initiatives aligned to practice strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering on the firm’s Banking & Finance practice strategy.
  • Conducting client feedback to continually improve the firm’s service offering and to gain insights into clients.
  • Driving implementation of practice priorities including pursuing growth opportunities.
  • Coaching Partners, Managing Associates and Senior Associates to execute their business plans and build their pipeline of work.
  • Encouraging the sharing of client intelligence.
  • Identifying and leading strategy pursuits of clients and deal opportunities.
  • Working with the Marketing team to implement integrated campaigns.
  • Leading a team of specialists who support our Competition, Intellectual Property and Tax practices.
  • Coaching and mentoring of junior team members and identifying ways to support their career growth.

Who should apply?

You will be operating at the Senior Manager level seeking your next challenge.  You will thrive in building relationships and working alongside a practice, deeply connecting with their market. 

You will have experience working in a professional services firm or other corporate organisation with complex stakeholder management.  Commercial acumen, strong stakeholder influencing skills and the ability to quickly understand strategy and translate it through execution will also be important

This firm is seeking a strong track record of coaching teams to implement strategy and priorities as well as the ability to identify opportunities and strong pipeline management skills.

You will bring experience in developing and implementing business development initiatives to support revenue growth.  It is also important that you are a strong people manager and mentor.
